Are you looking for a fun activity this September? Check out this list.

There’s always a bittersweet feeling when summer ends, but don’t despair! There are still a lot of fun things to do this month in Virginia, and I’m sharing some of my favorites with you:

1. Apple picking at Great Country Farms in Bluemont. Enjoy apple picking, wagon rides, live music, and cider pressing demonstrations at Great Country Farms in Bluemont. You can also visit nearby places such as BlueMont Vineyards or Dirt Farm Brewing.

2. Water Mine Swimmin’ Hole Annual Dog Days in Reston, Virginia. On September 10, the Water Mine Swimmin’ Hole in Reston, Virginia, closes their pool to people and opens it to our furry friends. The annual Dog Days event costs $10 per dog, and it raises money for the Fairfax County Animal Shelter and Fairfax parks.

3. Stratford Hall Wine and Oyster Festival. On September 17 to 18, you can enjoy Virginia wineries, coastal oysters, local food trucks, breweries, artisan booths and live music. Also on September 17, we will have the Dulles Plane Pull, where teams compete to see who can pull the 164,000 pound airbus the fastest. We will also have car shows, live music, aircraft displays and more.

4. Virginia Tech versus West Virginia University. The Virginia Tech Hokies will play football against the WVU team on September 22.

5. Occoquan Fall Arts and Crafts Festival. The event will be held on September 24 and 25. Many craft vendors and artisans will be on the streets of this beautiful town during these days.

6. 80th Annual Old Town Alexandria Home Tour. The walking tour features several of Old Town Alexandria’s finest homes.

I’d love to see you at any of these local events! As always, if you have questions about real estate, call or email me. I’m happy to be your real estate consultant.
