Here are the three keys to good home staging.

Home staging is a proven and essential part of the marketing process. When done correctly, it will enable you to sell your home faster than if you hadn’t staged it at all. Buying or selling a home is a highly emotional process; buyers want to fall in love with their new home, and sellers want to maximize their return.

How do you make this happen? While the number of bedrooms and bathrooms is important, creating a light, open, and elegant living space is equally important. Here at Tanya & Co., we consider our stager, Sheila Mackey of Sheila James Designs, to be our secret weapon. We normally bring Sheila in to do a staging consultation prior to listing your home, and there are three key factors she considers:

1. Declutter and depersonalize. Remove any excess items so that only your main furniture remains.

2. Paint with neutral colors. This allows the buyer to imagine their furniture in the home. Homes with neutral colors also look better online.

3. Accessorize and style your home. If you list your home with our team, we’ll have our stager style your home so it shows like a model home.
